"TACROSTIC GAME"

CREATE YOUR OWN ACROSTIC GAME

USE YOUR IMAGINATION. THIS GAME HAS MANY POSSIBILITIES.

1. Get a friend or a group of friends to play the game with you.

2. Have one person (Player A) describe a person or an object mentioned in the Bible.

3. Player A does not reveal the name of the person or object he is describing.

4.The other Players spell the name of  the person or the object Player A has described, using the names of other Bible persons or Bible objects.

5.Write the names of these Bible persons or objects in the acrostic squares we have provided for this purpose.

6. The first letter of each word placed in the acrostic square should form a word that spells the name of the Bible person or Bible object Player A has described

7.If you cannot think of a Bible character or Bible object, whose name begins with the letter that you need, check the Question index by clicking the button  labeled SHOW QUESTIONS . These are also arranged in alphabetical order.

8. Each player in the game may  take a turn at being Player A.

For example

Player A,   thinking of Adam, says, “I see a man in a beautiful garden”

Player B volunteers, “Who was Moses’ Brother ?”

The group agrees that this is Aaron and Aaron’s name is written in the acrostic square

Player C volunteers, “Who was the second king of Israel?” The group

agrees that this is David and David is written in the acrostic square

Player D volunteers,“Who is the first person murdered.”

The group agrees  that this is Abel and Abel is written in the acrostic square.

Player E volunteers, “Who did God use to lead Israel out of Egypt?”

The group agrees that this is Moses and Moses name is written in the acrostic square.

Obviously the first letters of these words spell Adam— the person described  by the first player.

Note

Player A, may give as many tips as he feels are necessary to identify the person or object he is  thinking about.  At any time during the game if Player A feels that the other  persons  in the group failed to correctly identify who or what he has described Player A may give further identifying tips, or may otherwise indicate that the group has failed to recognize the person or object he has described .

A   ARONDAVIDABELMOSES

This game has a wide range of flexibility and can be made as easy or as difficult as the persons playing the game want to make it.

Another variation of this game is to have Player A, think of a scene described in the Bible.  Player A  gives tips identifying the scene he is thinking about but does not give a name.  The other persons playing the game spell the Bible scene Player A is thinking about, using names and objects that describe the scene player A is thinking about. Write the names of these names or objects in the acrostic squares provided for this purpose. The first letters of these names or objects will spell the scene described by Player A
