Just For Today

I kneel in the solitude of dawn's bright day
And as the sun silhouettes the glorious morn, I pray,
"Lord of the Universe, guide me this day,
Keep my feet so prone to wander,
In your straight and narrow way."

Take away this heart of stone
Give me one more like your own
When enticed to stray, I pray, let me not sin's path condone.
If I wander far away, then please leave me not alone."

I kneel in the luster the splendor of noon
And I pray, "Please Lord, on this capricious mind, hone,
That law of love you once wrote in stone.
Guide me, Gird me, Fit me, Lord, help me walk with you alone."

I kneel at eventide and pray,
"Lord of Creation, Lord of light, show me the way
And when compassed with perplexities help me to stay
Firm, strong and steadfast in you love alway."

I kneel at midnight and I pray
Dear Lord, "Help me to remember Gethsemane,
And when like sheep, I seek to stray
Bind me in your narrow way.
