Never judge a gift by the paper in which it is wrapped. Of all the sons
of Jesse, David, on the surface, seemed the least likely to succeed, but God
saw in him the makings of a king, and God choose David to be King of Israel,
rejecting Jesse's, seven other, very handsome sons.
Come to think of it, Jesus was not necessarily the most good-looking man either.
Isaiah, the prophet described Jesus many years before he was born and said
that He had no good-looks, stature, or elegance that we would want to associate
with Him, but Jesus, our Redeemer, now sits on the right hand of God, and
one day in the not very distant future, He will return the potentate of the
Universe to take his children home.
