He Obeyed?

Jewell Parrilla

"A lamb for a sacrifice? Well I do not have a lamb to sacrifice. I am tired of doing these gruesome sacrifices, tired of begging Abel for a lamb whenever I have to do sacrifice." Fingering a luscious, mouth-watering bunch of grapes, Cain thought angrily, "This fruit, planted by me, carefully watered and cultivated by me is just as valuable as the sheep that Abel herds. God will have to accept fruit for my sacrifice."

Scowling angrily, Cain proceeded to gather stones for an altar. He reminisced about the stories his parents had told about the days when the world was new and they still lived in their beautiful garden home. "Some God," he mused, "Bumped my parents out of the only home they had known on a whim and now expects me to go the extra mile to find a lamb kill and sacrifice it. Well not today, and not ever. I am going to give Him what I've got."
