Twas' only a small piece of fruit that Eve ate

But it caused six millennia of suffering and woe.

By one man's disobedience sin entered the world.

By one man's obedience we have freedom from sin.

For God so loved this blighted world

That He sent His only Son to die a barbarous death

On a cruel, vicious cross.

And His Son was sent, not to condemn,

But that the world through Him might be saved.
