GOD PROVIDED FOOD

One day shortly after finishing their school work, the children were startled to hear Mother say, " Children, we have no more bread and nothing with which to make any more."

"Oh, Mother, let's pray," said Harry.

"God will send us some food," said little Marion " I just know he will send us help." The little family knelt by the worn sofa and pleaded with God to send them some food before they became very hungry. As they arose from their knees their faces reflected the happiness and the confidence that they felt. Although no human being knew of their plight, they were confident that God cared.

As twilight drew its curtains close beside their little cabin, Ruthie begged, "Please tell us a story Mommy."

"What shall it be?" queried Mother.

"Oh, about Daniel in the lion'th den" lisped little Ruth.

The sound of horses hooves pounding on the snowy trail that ran in front of their house interrupted Mrs Barker's attempts to begin the story.
